After a tumultuous season, Jorge Martín returns with unwavering determination to conquer the title in 2026 with Aprilia. Drawing on his experience, he is committed to turning his injuries into strength, all while dreaming of a triumphant season. Between ambition and patience, the Madrid rider is ready to take on the challenge.
A return to the roots
One year ago, Jorge Martín made his entrance at Aprilia, crowned with his world title with the Ducati of the Pramac team. This move to the Italian brand was meant to be a year of learning to come back stronger and become a serious contender for the championship in 2026. However, the learning process was not without its bumps, with repeated injuries and an attempted divorce from Aprilia that was ultimately abandoned. Today, the desire for success remains intact, and Martín is ready to give it his all.
After a studious winter focused on physical preparation, an ambitious Martín made his appearance at Aprilia’s presentation for the 2026 season. “I am still working,” he stated regarding his recovery. “After what happened last season, it’s difficult to be at 100% right now, so I’m working on that. But I am quite certain that I will be ready at the start of the season.”
Patience and perseverance
Although he feels ready, Martín admits that his physical condition and adaptation to the Aprilia are not yet ideal after a chaotic season. In 2025, he was injured too often, which forced him to take the necessary time to recover. “One thing I learned last season is that you can’t do more than what is possible. I don’t want to rush because it’s not necessary; bad things could happen again. That’s not what we want.”

“I missed a lot of races last season. I need to regain my confidence, but I am sure that when I am 100% on the bike and we are together, we can win. It will take a bit of time to achieve that, so I will try to do a bit more during the season, to do what we are ready for.”
Martín asserts his title dream with Aprilia
Jorge Martín speaks of Aprilia’s growing ambition in MotoGP, after a notable 2025 season marked by significant successes thanks to the performances of Marco Bezzecchi and Raúl Fernández. His goal is clear: to win races and contend for the title this year. “We are a great team, and I signed to try to win. That’s what I will do, fight until the end to win this championship, whether it’s Marco or me. I believe we can do it.”
“I am optimistic,” Martín insisted. “I think there is a place to win right now, and it’s here at Aprilia. We saw last season that the results were impressive. That’s why I signed, to win the title, so I will try to fight until the end with my tools.”
“That’s my goal: to work on myself, to work on the bike. I am sure it will take me a bit of time because I still need to discover the bike, but I am convinced that when I feel ready with the bike and know what I have at my disposal, I will be ready to fight for victory.”

Jorge Martín is fully integrated into the Aprilia team.
The question remains: is the title realistic this year? “It’s impossible to say what will happen, but the goal is to fight for this title until the end,” Martín assured. “We’ll see. As I said, it’s impossible to predict the future, but I will give 100% and be ready for this season.”
A past that shapes the future
Jorge Martín is therefore aiming for a title with a team he wanted to leave last spring. That episode now belongs to the past. During the presentation, he emphasised several times his strong ties with the brand, which he considers crucial for approaching the year 2026: “I learned a lot last season. I think my team is very close to me because we understood that we needed to be united to face everything that happened.”
In this spirit of unity, Martín will need to stand out against Marco Bezzecchi, who took on the role of leader last season. But he wishes to take advantage of this experience to learn: “Marco is in a much better situation than I am right now. He knows the bike, so he knows where to attack and where not to attack. It’s valuable to have a good example by my side to learn how to ride this bike.”
In summary, Jorge Martín is determined to turn challenges into opportunities, with an unwavering ambition to conquer the title with Aprilia. The road will be fraught with obstacles, but with his patience and resilience, he could well realise his dream on the MotoGP circuits.
