BMW M Racing Academy: “Class of 2026” kicks off customer racing support programme in Munich and Viareggio.

Training in Tuscany

The inaugural week for the Class of 2026 began with a trip to Tuscany, where the drivers trained at Formula Medicine in Viareggio. Under the expertise of Dr. Riccardo Ceccarelli and his team, they focused on both mental and physical fitness alongside BMW M works drivers Ugo de Wilde and Tim Tramnitz. The sessions included various activities designed to foster team spirit among the participants.

Simulator Sessions in Munich

Upon returning to Munich, the class had the opportunity to train in the BMW M Motorsport simulator, specifically configured for the BMW M Hybrid V8. With support from BMW M works drivers Jens Klingmann and Robby Foley, Green, Rackl, and Quinn honed their driving skills while gaining insights into team feedback processes. Additionally, they underwent social media and communication training and toured BMW Group Classic to learn about the brand’s rich history.

Selection Process and Future Events

The trio secured their spots in the BMW M Racing Academy after a rigorous selection process at the end of the previous year, standing out among a competitive field of GT4 drivers. Throughout this season, they will receive comprehensive support across various areas, including a vital experience during the Nüburgring 24 Hours event scheduled for May 16-17.

Mentorship and Racing Seasons

This year, alongside Klingmann and Foley, Max Hesse will also serve as a mentor for the Academy. All three mentors were involved with last year’s Class of 2025, providing insights into professional racing. For 2026, their mentorship role will be intensified as they guide the new class through their racing journeys.

Competing on Global Stages

Each member of the Class of 2026 will participate in full racing seasons within leading GT4 series worldwide. Green is set to race in GT4 America, Rackl will compete in the GT4 European Series, and Quinn will take part in GT4 Australia. Notably, Quinn gained attention earlier this year for his performance in the GT3 category during the Bathurst 12 Hour event.
